The Importance of Water for Health and Weight Management

People often wonder. about the importance of drinking enough water. Water is an essential nutrient that our bodies need to function properly, especially since our bodies are 60% water! When we're dehydrated, we might feel tired, sluggish, or even dizzy. Our bodies need water to help regulate our temperature, transport nutrients throughout our bodies, and flush out waste and toxins. If you get frequent headaches, that is a common sign of dehydration.

Drinking enough water can also help us maintain a healthy weight. Sometimes we confuse hunger for thirst, and may reach for a snack instead of a. glass of water. By drinking enough water, we can help prevent overeating and make it easier to stick to a healthy diet. Water also has zero calories, so it's a great choice for anyone trying to lose weight.

Finally, drinking enough water can help keep our skin looking healthy and vibrant. When we're dehydrated, our skin can look dry and crack, especially in the winter season. But when we drink enough water, it helps keep our skin hydrated, which can improve its elasticity and prevent wrinkles. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body feeling its best. A good rule of thumb is to aim for at least 64 ounces (or 8 cups) of water per day. If you're physically active, add ~16 ounces of water for every 30 minutes of exercise per day.
