SPORTS NUTRITION COUNSELING

A Sports Nutrition Dietitian Can Make a Difference

Proper nutrition can make a meaningful difference in athletic performance, strength, energy levels, and recovery. Sports nutrition is not only about choosing healthy foods. It also involves eating the right balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fats at the right times before and after training.

Carbohydrates are the body’s primary source of fuel during exercise and can help support endurance, intensity, and overall performance. Protein helps build and maintain muscle while supporting recovery after workouts. Dietary fats are also important for overall health and energy, although they are usually less of a focus immediately before and after exercise.

Every athlete has different nutritional needs based on their sport, training schedule, body composition goals, age, and level of activity. A nutrition plan for a runner may look very different from a plan for a strength athlete, team-sport athlete, or someone exercising for general fitness.

Working with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist can help you determine how much to eat, which foods to choose, how to balance your macronutrients, and how to time meals and snacks around training. Whether your goal is to improve performance, build muscle, increase endurance, recover more effectively, or support healthy weight management, your nutrition plan should be personalized to your needs.

We provide sports nutrition counseling for athletes and active individuals throughout North Jersey, including Wayne, Totowa, Clifton, Paterson, Little Falls, Parsippany, and surrounding areas. Telehealth appointments are also available.
